All students are required to
read the assigned literature and to provide written answers to the assigned
questions. Students are encouraged to
discuss the articles and the questions with others, but the answers must be
written independently.
Two or three students will
lead each discussion. Their collective
responsibilities are to answer questions about the topic and the specific
article(s) and to mediate discussion of the article(s), assigned questions, and
related concepts. When preparing to
lead a discussion, students should read the articles and ask the question,
“What do I need to know to fully understand this topic and this article?” Then, they should seek answers to those
questions by reading the textbook, finding review articles, and talking with
others.
All students are expected to
participate in discussions, both by sharing their thoughts and opinions and by
listening to those expressed by others.
