The floorplanning benchmarks in the website are the following fours suites: 1) GSRC Hard-Block Benchmark There are 3 circuits in this suite of benchmarks, n100, n200 and n300, which contain 100, 200 and 300 hard blocks, respectively. For the fixed-outline floorplanning problem, the maximum whitespace is 10%, the fixed I/O pads are scaled to the according boundary, and the aspect ratios(height/width) of the fixed outline are 1, 2, 3. Thus, for each circuit we have 3 different versions due to the different I/O pad layouts. (The original benchmarks are downloaded from http://vlsicad.eecs.umich.edu/BK/GSRCbench/) 2) GSRC Soft-Block Benchmark The only difference between this suite of benchmarks and the above one is that the blocks are all soft. The aspect ratios of each block ranges from 1/3 to 3. In the experiments the similar modifications are made as the above one, except that the maximum whitespace is 1%. (The original benchmarks are downloaded from http://vlsicad.eecs.umich.edu/BK/GSRCbench/) 3) HB Benchmark In this suite of benchmarks there are 18 circuits. They are derived from ISPD98 placement benchmarks. Each circuit contains both hard and soft blocks, the numbers of which ranges from 500 to 2000. For fixed-outline floorplanning problem, the maximum whitespace is 10%, the fixed I/O pads are scaled to the according boundary, and the aspect ratios of the fixed outline are 1, 2, 3. Thus, for each circuit we have 3 different versions due to the different I/O pad layouts. (The original benchmarks are downloaded from http://cadlab.cs.ucla.edu/cpmo/HBsuite.html) After downloading the above three suites of benchmarks, you will find 3 subfolders, "1", "2" and "3". They contain the circuits with aspect ratios of the fixed outline: "1", "2" and "3". 4) HB+ Benchmark This suite of benchmarks is a harder version of HB benchmarks. There are 17 circuits. We use the original circuits without any modification. The detailed benchmark specification can be found in this paper: "Solving Hard Instances of Floorplacement" by A. Ng et al. For easy of use, here we list the defaulted aspect ratios of the fixed outline and maximum whitespace for each circuit: Circuit Aspect Ratio whitespace% ibm01 '1.0039', 26% ibm02 '0.9975', 25% ibm03 '0.9977', 30% ibm04 '0.9997', 25% ibm06 '0.9997', 25% ibm07 '0.9971', 25% ibm08 '0.9978', 26% ibm09 '1.0030', 25% ibm10 '1.0000', 20% ibm11 '0.9998', 25% ibm12 '1.0004', 26% ibm13 '1.0011', 25% ibm14 '1.0025', 25% ibm15 '0.9982', 25% ibm16 '1.0011', 25% ibm17 '1.0006', 25% ibm18 '1.0022', 25% (The original benchmarks are downloaded from http://vlsicad.eecs.umich.edu/BK/ISPD06bench/) All of the above benchmarks are mainly used for fixed-outline floorplanning problems. Of cause, by simple modification, they can also be used for non-fixed outline floorplanning. For any question or suggestion, please conatct Jackey Zijun Yan at zijunyan@iastate.edu Jackey 02/09/2009
