Materials:  The text Statistical Quality Design and Control, 2nd edition by
DeVor, Chang and Sutherland is a required text.  Course materials 
including handouts of PowerPoint presentations seen on the videos 
are available via WebCT.  Two books by W. Edwards Deming, Out 
of the Crisis and The New Economics are recommended reading.

Exams:      Exam 1: by Friday, October 3
            Exam 2: by Friday, November 7
            Final Exam: by Friday, December 19

Assignments: The due date for each assignment is one week after
it is assigned.  Corrected assignments will be returned as soon as
possible.

Grading: Grading is based on your performance on exams, the project
         and homework assignments.  The breakdown of points is as follows:

                     Exam 1:       100 pts
                     Exam 2:       100 pts
                     Homework:     100 pts
                     Project:       70 pts
                     Final Exam:   130 pts

                     Total         500 pts

WebCT, online video and handbook materials:

All handouts and handbook materials are available to students registered for this course through WebCT. To access WebCT go to the homepage of Iowa State University (http://www.iastate.edu) and follow the link to WebCT either under Students or Computers & the Web. You will be asked to login with your WebCT ID and Password.

Computing:

You can download JMP by going to www.sitelicensed.iastate.edu/software/ You should be able to directly download an install JMP from there. You will have to type in your ISU netid and password in order to do this. Once the file is downloaded to your desktop (it is a pretty big file at 271 MB) run the Initialize.exe and follow the step-by-step instructions. When you come to the option to Modify, Repair or Remove, select Repair. The installation program should do the rest.

If this does not work, a CD can be sent to you with the JMP software on it. You may install JMP on your personal computer. The software will work until June 30, 2009.
