Instructions for Using SPLIDA on Snedecor 321/322 PCs Labs W.Q. Meeker SPLIDA is a collection of Splus functions and a graphical user interface extensions for S-Plus. If you have your own PC and a version of Splus (including the student version), you should download SPLIDA from http://www.public.iastate.edu/~splida and follow the install instructions. To operate Splus/SPLIDA in a safe, personal mode in your personal AIT diskspace (mapped to M:\ drive in Snedecor 321/322), do the following. Use MY Computer -> M:. Then copy (do not NOT move) the SplidaUser folder to the M:\ drive. Then open this newly named folder and copy the SplidaUser shortcut into this folder also. Do right-click Properties on the SplidaUser shortcut. Edit the Target path on the Shortcut page to point to your folder. Edit ONLY that part AFTER S_PROJ="............", which currently points to the desktop directory. The first part of this Target line has to point to Splus itself. For example "C:\Program Files\Insightful\splus62\cmd\SPLUS.exe" S_PROJ="M:\SPlidaUser" If Splus is installed somewhere other than the default C drive, this path must be changed. If you install SPLIDA on your own computer, in place of the M drive, you can use any drive available on your machine (e.g. C drive instead of the M drive).
