Tentative Schedule

  1. Basic Concepts and Statistical Thinking. (Notes; 2 days)
  2. Simple Linear Regression.(Chapters 2,3; 5 days)
  3. Multiple Regression. (Chapter 4; 5 days)
  4. Model Building. (Chapter 5, 3 days)
  5. Variable Screening Methods. (Chapter 6, 2 days)
  6. Some Regression Pitfalls. (Chapter 7; 2 days)
  7. Residual Analysis. (Chapter 8; 2 days)
  8. Time Series Modeling and Forecasting. (Chapter 10; 4 days)
  9. Principles of Experimental Design (DOE). (Chapter 11; 2 days)
  10. Case Studies. (Chapter 13-17; 2 days)

The laboratory period will be used to introduce material closely related to the laboratory assignment, to provide instruction on the use of statistical software that can be used to complete the assignment, and to give teams a chance to start working on the weekly assignments. Laboratories will be due in class on Thursday.
