Working Women

A person's pay expectations influence pay offers, acceptance, and satisfaction with a salary. Women tend to have lower pay expectations than men. Women do not believe they are worth less, but that everyone should be paid less. From the time women embark on a career and the time they expect to hit their carrer peak, women have lower pay ecpectations for themselves and others in their field. They believe less pay is fair pay. Women do not aquire the knowledge of money that men do. Women tend to put costs (like the cost of a house) on the low side of its value while men value it on the high side. Women also see money as negative while men view it as a status symbol. Women also are less willing to make sacrifices to get more money, instead spending more time with family
