Personal narrative from a woman on the topic
"Summary of a short paragraph from Patrizza 's book"
A short paragraph Patrizza took out from her book "A Skeleton in the Closet" described her experiences staying a hospital where she doesn't belong and other negatives feeling about her body image such as killing herself. I chose her personal narrative first of all because she is an eating disorder victim who suffered both anorexia and bulimia, the most two common disorder that the today teenagers suffered. Second she is a feminist. While many victim passed away and don't have a chance to share their experiences, Patrizza recovered and try to send a message to the teenagers "I have to eat or else I'm gonna die".
Unlike from the government and advocacy sources, a personal narrative tend to provide the true experiences and feelings of a victim. "My body burned, as if I was in Hell, as acid rain feflux-so the doctors called it, flowed throughout my body, eating away at any victim organ, that wasn't already eaten up by another organ" described Patrizza. Such that description gives the readers or at least myself remembered the burning of my stomach when i am hungry. Also her description such what caution the reader that if not eating, these are the consequences you might get.
Whereas the government and the advocacy group don't provide these feelings. They tend to provide facts about eating disorders such as eating disorder is bad, or type of treatments available for eating disorder. This fact however might or might not believe or accept by the reader because there are no feeling or any experiences they had before. Depend on each person's knowledge, they accept facts differently.
