oyce has been a News producer at WOI since 1988. She grew up on a farm in
northwest Oklahoma and went on to get degrees at Saint Louis University and
the University of Oklahoma. Ask her what she likes doing best, and she'll
probably tell you it's putting stories about politics and government in
context, using interviews, good writing and natural sound to make sense of
issues. Joyce's features have been broadcast on NPR and other networks.
Her role models in journalism are Robert Seigel, Lynn Neary and Helen
Thomas.
he juggles the responsibilities of work and family, using her
spare time to catch up on reading. Her favorite contemporary authors are
Calvin Trillin, Oliver Sacks and Toni Morrison. Joyce's favorite pastimes
include shopping, reading funny things like Dave Barry and Al Franken out
loud at home and taking automobile trips with her family.
