Victor J. Raymond

Introduction:

Welcome to the homepage of Victor Raymond. Currently, I am a doctoral candidate at Iowa State University, in the Sociology Department. My concentration areas are Social Inequality and Social Organization, though it would be difficult to sum up my interests in two broad labels.

A brief list of my research interests would include:

  • civil society and its relationship to social inequality
  • living spaces, including public spaces, housing and community and how they affect how people live, play, work and interact.
  • political sociology, particularly as it relates to civil society and regime change
  • gender, race and sexual orientation, and other dimensions of social stratification
  • the meaning of play and social interaction
  • sociological theory

Other Information:

Prior to coming to ISU, I was a community organizer in the Minneapolis-St. Paul metropolitan area.
If you want to know about some of the things I am interested in, here are some links.
