The following is a list of resources, divided by general subject. This
is not intended as a complete list, as many of the sites listed
have extensive links themselves. Have fun exploring!
Bisexual
Resources:
Our fun and friendly counterpart in Iowa City - Iowa City Bi Group is a
group of Bisexuals who meet twice a month for discussion and support around
issues dealing with our sexual orientation and the problems we have in society.
BOP is about to open a Bi Resource Center in the Twin Cities! A major
advance and an exciting development!
will be taking place in Milwaukee this year; a
number of people from Iowa are planning on attending.
This magazine is now online, and was originally produced by the Bay Area
Bisexual Network. Highly recommended.
The website of Dr. Fritz Klein, the author of The Bisexual Option
"Serving the world bisexual community" is putting it mildly - past the
USA, this is the place to go.
The Bisexual Resource Center has produced an amazing amount of material
of use to bisexual folks everywhere, including the indispensable
Bisexual Resource Guide.
Color Bi Numbers: African American, black, asian, latino
bisexual participation in networking with each other for intellectual stimulati$
and social connections.
GLBT Resources In Iowa:
The LGBTSS Office is Communications Central for lesbian, gay,
bisexual and transgender activities at Iowa State
University.
The Alliance is the main group at Iowa State University for gay, lesbian,
bisexual, and transgender students. They also have a LOT of links
and other resources available - check it out.
The Center is a multipurpose, volunteer-run facility located right in the heart of
Des Moines, offering a wide variety of services to the LGBT community in Central Iowa.
(Parents, Families and Friends of
Lesbians and Gays) in Ames meets on the second Tuesday of the month at 7pm,
at the Collegiate Presbyterian Church, in the basement: Corner of
West and Sheldon, one block north of Lincoln Way.
GLSEN has been working very hard to help out educators, families, and students
in Iowa understand gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender issues. Members of
the Bi Social have participated in their events and activities.
