I created the tutorials below primarily for students enrolled in the M.A. TESL program or the Ph.D in Applied Linguistics & Technology at Iowa State Univeristy. In the tutorials, I frequently make reference to what went on during class and occasionally, I refer to handouts and to the particular situation at Iowa State University. However, the tutorials are freely available to anyone who wants to use them. All I ask is to give me credit when appropriate. If you have suggestions about the current tutorials or requests for additional tutorials, please let me know and I'll see what I can do. I would like to thank Anthony Ellertson and Amy Litterer for their work on the Flash tutorials.
Other sites that include some very good tutorials:
- Macromedia samples and tutorials http://www.macromedia.com/software/dreamweaver/productinfo/tutorials/gettingstarted/
- Garo Green, Lynda.com (some free titles available) http://movielibrary.lynda.com/html/modPage.asp?ID=410
- Scott Graham found these Flash tutorials to be helpful (http://www.tutorialized.com/tutorials/Flash/1).
This site contains links to many other software tutorials as well.
Note: The tutorial files provided below are fairly large in terms of
file size (20 - 120 MB) and dimensions (800x616 pixels). I recommend
viewing them on a networked computer and on a monitor with a screen resolution
of at least 1024 x 768 (ideally hgiher, though). The Quicktime
tutorials
are
housed on a server over which I currently do not have control. These
tutorials are occasionally not available, especially when attempting
to view them off campus.
Each link will open up in a new browser window. If you have suggestions regarding tutorials to be added, please let me know.
