Same as CUBA164 x S15

CUBA164 is the accession, and it was crossed to an elite proprietary stiff stalk line (S) from company 15.  We classify it as S0 generation.  It is 50% tropical and 50% temperate.

CUBA117:S1542

Same as CUBA117 x S15) x S42

CUBA117 is the accession, and it was crossed to an elite proprietary stiff stalk line (S) from company 15, and then crossed to a different elite stiff stalk line from company 42.  We classify it as S0 generation.  It is 25% tropical and 75% temperate.  

CUBA164:S2008-289-001-B-B

Same as CUBA164 x S20) x S08-289-001-B-B

CUBA164 is the accession, and it was crossed to an elite proprietary stiff stalk line (S) from company 20, and then crossed to a different elite stiff stalk line from company 08.  We classify it as S4 generation.  It is 25% tropical and 75% temperate.  The S0 generation was selfed (S1 ear number is 289), selfed again (S2 ear number is 001), and selfed and bulked on per row basis (B is S3 bulk row), and selfed and bulked again (last B is S4 bulk).

Modified SSD to advance S1 to S2:

CUBA164:S2008-B-056-B-B

The S0 generation was selfed and a balanced bulk (BBK) from 250 S1 ears is designated B. The S1 BBK is planted and selected plants are selfed and individually identified.  The S2 ear number is 056.  Subsequent selfing generations are bulked on a per row basis and designated B for each additional selfing generation.
