 GEM Field Day 2010:

Date:   September 23, 2010
Time:   8:30AM to 5:00PM

GEM ANNOUNCEMENT:

Field Day of Sep 23 cancelled:

The Ames Field Day scheduled for Sep 23, 2010, has been cancelled due to severe wind damage in the demonstration plots. Since most of the nursery is still worth seeing alternative days have been set aside for visiting various sections of nursery.

Three days are scheduled- Sep 1, 7, and 8.  Sections of nursery to see include double haploid (DH) procedures and DH inbreds, photoperiod crosses, GEM developmental procedures, 2010 recommended line increases, and GEM lines in retest experiments (for potential recommendation for 2011).

If you are able to visit Ames, we would be happy to provide tours of the GEM nursery on these 3 dates at any time convenient for you.   We will meet at the Plant Introduction Farm office on the SW corner of State Ave and Mortensen Rd. in Ames and go the field from there.   Please let us know what time you expect to arrive so we can coordinate tours.

We are grateful to our Cooperators for their support!
