I. Minutes/Announcements
The
minutes from the December meeting were reviewed and accepted as written. If there are changes or addition please let
Sheley know.
II. Women
in Leadership Update
President of University of
Colorado to speak on women and leadership at ISU Jan. 22
Elizabeth
Hoffman, president of the University of Colorado, Boulder, will present a
lecture on "One Women's Path to Leadership" at 4 p.m. Saturday, Jan.
22, in Rooms 220-230 Scheman Building, Iowa State Center. A reception will be held at 3 p.m. in the
Brunier Room.
The event is part of
a yearlong program sponsored by Iowa State University's Advancing Women Leaders
series. The lecture is free and open to the public.
The
lecture will be followed by comments from Ann Thompson, chair of ISU's
University Committee on Women and interim associate dean of research and
graduate studies for the College of Education, and Judy Vance, chair of the
department of mechanical engineering.
Parking for the event
will be in Lot B1 at the Iowa State Center (north of Scheman). Please enter the
parking lot from Center Drive, coming from Beach Avenue. At the entrance, tell
the attendant that you are attending the women's leadership event and you will
be allowed to enter. A map of the area is online.
Final Advancing Women Leaders
Series
The
final event of the Advancing Women Leaders series sponsored by the University
Committee on Women, Women's Leadership Consortium, Carrie
Chapman Catt Center for Women and Politics, Office of the Provost and the
Committee on Lectures will be the Women’s Leadership Summit to be held on April
15. The speaker for this event is
scheduled to be Angela Oh. Mark your
calendars to attend the Summitt.
Women’s Enrichment Mini-Grants
The
recipients that received funding for the mini-grant proposals that were
submitted are now posted on the Provost website: http://www.provost.iastate.edu/faculty/diversity.html
