Report on Deans Searches
The recommendations that UCW presented to the search committees for each of the Dean searches was passed out to the group. In the recent Dean searches it proved to be very successful in making others on campus aware that UCW is very committed to making sure women's issues are addressed for the future of women on our campus. Thank you to all contributed your time to attend the forums and provide your feedback for the recommendations. University Committee on Women would like to compliment Provost Allen for allowing time for the diversity forums. The committee believes strongly that a diversity forum indicates the university’s commitment to the importance of diversity and the need for the leadership on the university to be keeping that importance in front of the larger university community.

There are still a few searches and UCW will continue involvement to be sure that diversity issues are addressed.

Conversation with Callie Sanders
Callie Sanders, Associate Athletic Director, attended this meeting to discuss Title IX issues. Callie explained that her role is to make aware the issues of the women in athletics and to strive for gender equity. Callie discussed the results of the Equity Subcommittee Report. This report provides information about where ISU stands regard gender equity. This report is being submitted to the President.

During open time for discussion, members of the committee asked if UCW can offer assistance in addressing the issues of gender equity. Callie is open for suggestions and strategies to change the trends.
