possible. Draft in middle of February sent to UCW for comments of online in

Nancy: Concern with Faye Working with the “Leave” policy and she is slowly
phasing out. Agenda item will be Faye
4. Faculty Conduct Policy
-Family Policy
-Sex harassment policy needs to go back to the faculty senate so that there is
“one” policy.
-Non-Tenured Faculty
-Temp. instructors-what percentage is women on campus.
-Faculty Advisor Committee
-Non-Tenure 15/5 rule
-No department should have no more than 15% non-tenure/ISU as a whole no more
than 5% all faculty should be involved in research and teaching. Temp. positions
3 yrs. and some cases another 3 yrs.
-Sex harassment policy has not been discussed.
Faculty Conduct Committee
Conduct was accepted
Provost is doing a discussion next month.
Need to get latest version of conduct policy.

6. Women’s Center Director Search Update

Review of Applications by 1-31-01
To discuss the next step on whom we are following up on. There are no “official” timetables. A number of the applications were rejected because they did not meet the criteria. Approximately 18 did not meet the criteria. About 5 people will hopefully be interviewed. May be an April 1, 2001 start date. Timeline will be set on 2-08-01. Faye’s retirement should not affect the search.
7. Presidential Selection
Comment on UCW for attending the Diversity Forum. There were opportunities for people to speak with the candidates. Members were concerned about the amount of time that people were together. The Regents were given information quickly. Geoffrey was offered KY as well-therefore it was something to make a more.

Nominations due March 2 for eighth annual Strong-Minded Women Awards. Awards will be presented on Monday, April 9 at a dinner, awards ceremony and dessert reception at the Scheman Building.·
Legal and political commentator Susan Estrich, author of "Sex and Power," speaks at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 28, in Sun Room, Memorial Union, as part of Women's History Month. The Carrie Chapman Catt Prize for Research on Women and Politics also will be presented that day.Faculty Orientation for Department of Agriculture: Brought up data from the research from the Agriculture demographics, which was great.
New faculty senate committee on women and minority issues. Will take anything to the group.
Women in Athletics: Open Spirit Rally at 4:40 pm in Sheaman Building to meet and greet past student athletes about 40-60 athletes from ‘79-‘85.
Monday at 4 pm. in Gold Room, Spanish professor candidate, “Jewish Women Writers in Mexico”
