AGENDA
1. Penny welcomed everyone to the meeting and had everyone go around the room and introduce themselves.
2. Shauna Hallmark volunteered to take notes for the meeting.
3. Penny asked for volunteer/nominations for Vice Chair. None were given.
4. Penny passed around the membership list and asked for those who needed a Supervisor's Letter
5. A summary of the Retreat Summary was given from September 8, 2000.
6. Working teams gave a short summary of what their group had covered in the retreat and would be working on this year. The working teams are:
7. Administrative Search Committee: some discussion was made on how UCW can get input to the search committee for several key searches including the president search, athletic director, and dean of students.
8. Several upcoming activities were discussed
9. The UCW Brochure and web page were discussed. It was agreed that an unnecessary number of brochures did not need to be printed. Laura Bestler-Wilcox will create 2000-2001 brochure. Each team was asked to provide here with text for working team objectives and goals. bestler@iastate.edu
10. Several office and department made reports

Awards were discussed in the context of encouraging departments to include women in the nomination process. This is especially a problem since the people who nominate tend to nominate others who resemble them.
