“Too much sanity may be madness, and the maddest of all,

to see life as it is and not as it should be.”

- Miguel de Cervantes

I graduated from Iowa State University in December of 2005 with a B. A. in Spanish and while studying as an undergrad, I fell in love with languages and cultures. I also became aware of the opportunities for multilingual individuals. I am currently a M. A. candidate in Iowa State's TESL/Applied Linguistics program and a teacher-in-training. As a developing language instructor, I hope my students will be able to develop English communicative competence and hopefully broaden their own horizons with the opportunities available to English speakers.

My areas of research interest include: vocabulary teaching methods and incidental vocabulary learning; computer assisted language learning (CALL); the use of multimedia in language learning; and the roles that technology can play in education.

My personal interests include: Improving my Spanish fluency; foreign films and music; my family; my friends; and the Harry Potter series of books and movies (I especially like the 'language' of the magical spells--it is brilliant!).

My career goals include: teaching English in Spain; developing my proficiency in Spanish; and teaching both English to Spanish speakers, and Spanish to English speakers in the United States (after my first two goals have been accomplished).
