First: reread "Surveillance casts an eye to the future" and also read "Experts warn of al Qaeda's cyber terror potential" both located at the top of the course web site at http://www.public.iastate.edu/~sws/cyberpolhomepage.htm

In your dyad (look this tem up at dictionary.com) discuss how the two pieces interface with each other &endash; in other words, in light of the terrorism potential discussed in the second article how do we structure our national, state, and local surveillance regime to properly meet these threats (article # 1)?

I want you to do a quick-and-dirty web search for the current arguments about anti-terror security vs. privacy especially in cyber-space. You decide on how to do this search and what sources to consult.

• The New York Times
• C/Net News.com report on E-Terrorism

You dyad will do a brief report this afternoon on what you found and on your arguments.

The rest of the class period this PM will be spent discussing Ch 1-3 in Governance.com.
