This past month has been one that the Knights may be proud of. We have served the community well and I want to personally thank those that helped in the many events.
One of our projects has been helping refurbish the Friendship Ark Group Home on South Duff.
It has been very encouraging to see many of you there. It is progressing well and it looks like we will be adding the roof and possibly siding for the new garage this weekend. Also we may help with painting in the house and yard work filling in the holes where a few of trees and stumps have been removed.
We have two more Saturdays (Sept. 2nd and 9th) of the original commitment of five. If you havenšt had a chance to help and would like to, please call Sly Upah at 232-6447 so he can let Alan Christy know how many to expect. I also believe that they may have a few finishing tasks for Saturday, Sept. 16th. Please consider this also.
They plan to have an open house and dedication in October. Please plan to attend to support the many people who have volunteered their time and effort in this most worthy cause.
Also this past month we had the Knights of Columbus Picnic which was attended by about 30 Knights and their families. We had a prayer service and ate brats, hamburgers and delicious side dishes brought by some very good cooks. Thanks to Terry Herrman, Walt Albers, and Jeff Gibbons for the arrangements and cooking. Thank you all for attending.
We cannot forget the Harvest Dance and Cornfest. It was attended by many and all seemed to have a good time. I want to thank Sly Upah for the arrangements and all those that helped with the beverage table and/or tent.
Yours in Christ,
Rick
