Dear Brothers Knights:

As an organization, we are held in high regard in the minds and hearts of Catholics and rightly so. Often it is said that we are the right hand of the Church.

At this particular time in the history of our world, we are celebrating the 2000 years of Christian life in the world. It is fitting, first of all to include in our prayers at THANKSGliVING, that we thank our Savior for all lie has done for us. As evidence of our gratitude we can pledge to work for Charity,Justice and Peace. The program recommended by our Bishops is the following:

As a disciple of Jesus in the new Millennium, I pledge to:

• PRAY regularly for greater justice and peace.
• LEARN more about Catholic social teaching and its call to protect human life, stand with the poor, and care for creation.
• REACH across boundaries of religion, race, ethnicity, gender, and disabling conditions.
• LIVE justly in family life, school, work, the marketplace, and the political arena.
• SERVE those who are poor and vulnerable, sharing more time and talent.
• GIVE more generously to those in need at home and abroad.
• ADVOCATE public policies that protect human life, promote human dignity, preserve God's creation, and build peace.
• ENCOURAGE others to work for greater charity, justice, and peace.
