Dear Members of the Knights of Columbus:

I know that you have been hearing a lot about the millennium (that word comes from Latin and it means one thousand) but I don't think that you have heard very much about the real significance of the celebrations. I think there should be more mention of the beginning of Christianity - and that means that you have to talk about Christ. One way to assess the importance of the millennium is to ask yourself, What are all the blessings you have received during the past one thousand years? I think that will make your celebration meaningful and maybe prepare you for starting the next millennium with the right attitude. Maybe, you and I could also beg pardon for our sins of commission and omission.
