Simple Acts
Simple Acts Pope John Paul II has stated that the special aim of the jubilee
year is to give glory to the Holy Trinity "from whom everything in the world
and in history comes and to whom everything returns".(Tertio Millennio Adveniete)
Here are some simple acts that you can undertake to celebrate the Great Jubilee of the Year 2000 and spread the word of our faith to others:
- Receive the Eucharist as often as possible, as it is the source of all grace and our strength.
- Set aside time each day for prayer and reflection.
- Talk with other Christians about your faith and invite them to share their convictions and experiences.
- Forgive someone with whom you've argued and ask for forgiveness from someone you've wronged.
- Do something special for your parish, such as volunteering as an usher, working on a comminee, helping out with CCD or RCIA programs.
- Help a needy family or individual.
- Lead a pilgrimage to a shrine or other religious site in your area.
