The Knights of Columbus set an insurance sales record for the 12-month period ending Dec. 31, 1999, and topped a previous sales record set in 1998. Insurance issued in 1999 totaled $4,280,640,000. In 1998, the figure was $4,214,581,000.
The Order ended 1999 with a record $38.2 billion of insurance in force, compared with $35.8 billion at the end of 1998.
"The Knights of Columbus insurance program has but one goal in mind: providing for the financial welfare of our members and their families through quality life insurance sales and service," said Supreme Knight Virgil C. Dechant in announcing the year-end figures.
