Feel Good About Doing Good

During the month of March we attempted something our council has never done before... we hosted the first ever Ames Knights of Columbus Lenten Fish Fry. With a great deal of help from Bob Greenwood and Rick Hackett and a little bit of guidance from the Boone KofC council we conducted our first Fish Fry on Friday, March 17th at St. Cecilia's. Judging from the many responses, it was a delicious success.

The Knights committed to serving three this year with our second one served just last week. Our third and final meal of the Lenten season will be on Friday, April 14, beginning at 5:00pm and serving until 7:00pm.

I would like to extend my many thanks to those who made all of this possible. This type of activity is a wonderful reflection on the Knights of the Ames Council and shall certainly become a welcome tradition. I would also like to encourage each and every Knight to lend a hand when you are called to help.

You may have noticed that since the beginning of this fraternal year we have been publishing the monthly newsletter in a different format. The new format allows us to include not only meeting information but also information relevant to the proceedings of the State and Supreme Councils. The change in format has also increased the printing costs of this publication - almost double the cost of last year's newsletter.

In an effort to reduce this cost we would like to begin distributing this newsletter to anyone who would like to receive it in e-mail form. By doing this, we could reduce the size of our monthly mailings and save some costs on publication. If you would prefer to participate in this email campaign, simple email me at the address below and include the words "Knights of Columbus Newsletter" in the subject line of your email. We hope to begin this added feature with the June newsletter.

Yours in Christ,
Terry
