S/C Council Peer Advisory Committee
The role of the S/C Peer Advisory Committee is to provide resource information to S/C employees concerning employment and/or grievance issues. The Committee does not serve an advocate role but provides a means for an employee to obtain a perspective about employment concerns from peers familiar with the policies and procedures of the University. The Committee will also seek to ensure that the employee is aware of his/her rights and obligations and of the various processes available for the resolution of their concern.
The Peer Advisory Committee is a standing committee that consists of one Confidential, one Supervisory and one member of the S/C Council.
The Committee's role is to provide information to S/C employees who have employment concerns. Even though information about the Merit system is available in the S/C Handbook and the State Board of Regents Merit System Rules, the Peer Advisory Committee provides an opportunity for an employee to discuss concerns in an informal setting with other S/C employees who are familiar with the policies and procedures of the University.
Employees seeking assistance from this Committee can contact one of the members to discuss the employee's concern(s). The Committee member will provide information about relevant University policies and procedures and about the processes and agencies available to help resolve their concern(s). All discussions with a Peer Advisory member will be confidential.
Peer Advisory Committee Members:
In addition to the S & C Council Peer Advisory Committee, the University Ombuds Office may provide helpful assistance in seeking information or resolution to any of the above matters or other issues related to employment. The Ombuds Office is also a confidential service.
