Student Counseling Service

Individual Counseling

SCS offers assistance to many students coping with relationship problems, low self-esteem, stress, loneliness, depression, cultural differences, sexual assault recovery, eating disorders, trauma and childhood abuse, conflicts over sexuality, substance abuse, academic motivation, and other concerns. Many clients attain their desired goals within 5-8 sessions but others may seen longer according to their individual treatment plan. For those clients whose needs indicate extended service beyond what the Student Counseling Service can offer, SCS will provide assistance in referrals to other agencies within the community or in the student's home community.

There is no charge for individual appointments with a counselor. If psychological testing is indicated, there may be a small charge associated with the cost of testing.

In order to encourge consistency of care to our clients and increase efficiency of the service to all, SCS will charge $10 for uncancelled missed appointments or appointments not cancelled within two hours of the scheduled appointment time.
