Individual Career Counseling

The Student Counseling Service offers individual career counseling by trained counselors who can help students learn how to choose a major or career path.

What is Career Counseling/Consultation?
Career counseling is a partnership between you, the student, and your counselor. You are an expert on yourself, while your counselor can teach you a process of decision-making you can use many times in your lifetime.

What do I discuss with my Career Counselor?
You and your counselor will discuss not only your interests, but also many other issues such as your values, abilities, family background, and so forth.

What can I get from Career Counseling?
What you get from counseling will depend a lot on the outside effort on your part to learn about yourself and the world of work.

How do I know if I am ready for Career Counseling?
You can start by dropping in to our Career Exploration Services office during business hours, Monday through Friday 8-5. Specially trained Career Library Assistants can help you identify your needs and start the process of career exploration.
