Student Counseling Service

Welcome to Student Counseling Services

The SCS is a unit within the Division of Student Affairs. We are a primary mental health agency for students on the Iowa State University Campus. We are a professional staff of 8 Ph.D. level psychologist, 3 Masters level therapists, 3 psychology interns, and 14 practicum students.

Counseling services offered to students include: individual, group, couples, substance abuse assessment , eating disorder, and career counseling. We also offer crisis consultation.

Our staff is available for consultation and outreach programming to student groups and university faculty and staff regarding student needs. We also provide professional training/Internship and testing services.

We are located on the 3rd Floor of the Student Services Bldg, just west of Alumni Hall. Our office hours are 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Monday thru Friday. If you need to schedule an appointment, please call 515-294-5056 or you can come directly to our office and a receptionist will be happy to assist you.
