My friends and I were just talking the other day about all of the shows we used to watch. We loved "Clarissa", "Hey Dude," "Doug", "Alex Mack", "Salute your Shorts", "Legends of the Hidden Temple", and all the other retro shows. Nick at night needs to show these shows or at least give us older teens a new channel to feed our tv deprivaty. Nickelodeon would make millions if they made a channel dedicated to the shows of the 80's and early 90's.

I think that this is an awesome site. It rekindled the memories that I have of watching that show. It's the greatest show ever. I remember watching it and singing along. It was fun. Whoa, Cool site!!! Yeah I totally agree with every one of you. Solute your shorts was the best one on nick, I do not know what the heck happened to nick though. I mean all the show stink, I mean- all the shows today pretty much just suck. I think that salute your shorts was the greatest show and i agree with all of your beliefs. I think that Nick should create a channel with only the classics like "Hey Dude" and SYS and the original "Doug". those are what we love not Rocket Power. bring SYS back because it is the best.

I really liked the older Nick shows. The new shows I just dont like at all. Since they have all these stupid shows on, I dont watch the channel anymore. Do they have anything on but cartoons? Do they have actual people? I can't seem to remember if they do. I dont think they do. But I remember that show Dude Ranch or something. I want that back on!

This is one of my all time favorite shows. I urge people to post on the nick.com message boards under suggestions. Maybe with enough support they'll put one of our favorite shows back on the air. I can't even begin to tell you how much some of these shows they play now make me sick to my stomach. Spongebob, Odd parents, Jimmy Neutron, Wildthornberries, Catdog. Im sure there are fans of these shows and the ratings must be ok for them to keep playing them but what the hell little kids will watch whatevers on anyway. Peace

Yea this was the greastest show ever...my best friend val & i are very upset that all of our fav childhood shows are no longer on nickleodeon. We just don't understand why they would take away all of our good shows & "replace" them with this new garbage. Someday we are going to run in the presidential election & our campaign promise will be to bring back our classic shows! My gawd I LOVE SYS! I miss it so bad! My favorite episode was when they were searching for the treasure of Sarah Madre. 1-2, cha cha cha. 2-2, cha cha cha. LOL! You just can't make that stuff up. I just wanted to say that Salute Your Shorts was one of my favortie shows. I watched it until the very last time they showed it! I just found this site the other day, its really a great site. I love Salute your shorts. It was the best TV show ever. About 7 years ago I went to california with my family for my Uncle's wedding and while we were there we went to Universal Studios. My family and i went inside a toy shop and were waited on by DONKEYLIPS himself so of course we got a picture with him. This was definately a camp anawanna experience i won't forget!!

In answer to your questions: Venus DeMilo Thomas didn't leave her e-mail address. I got confirmation that it was really her from another cast/crew member. I will see if I can get your question answered though and put it in an FAQ.
In answer to your other question- I have people 'keep the Anti-Nick fervor to a minimum' because such statements tend to include long lists of classic Nick shows and because this site is mainly about 'Salute Your Shorts'. So I'd rather keep the discussion more positive and actually be about the 'Salute Your Shorts' series. But I would agree that I tend to watch a lot more Noggin' and Disney now than Nickelodeon mainly because they have real 'people' series and not just cartoon animation. I really like animation but I think you need a mix.

The Adventures of Pete & Pete, Hey Dude, AAAHH! Real Monsters, You Can't Do That On Television, Weinerville, Double Dare [all except DDY2K], Wild and Crazy Kids, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Nick Arcade, Ren & Stimpy, Looney Tunes, Flipper, Lassie, Inspector Gadget, Roundhouse, Fifteen, Welcome Freshman, What Would You Do? etc. were the best show Nickelodeon ever had! Why do they show nothing but ridiculous, insipid, retarded nicktoons? It doesn't make sense. SpongeBob SquarePants, Jimmy Neutron, As Told By Ginger, the Amanda Show, what is with Nickelodeon? Another note to Joe: Why do you say "keep the anti-nick fever to a minimum"? We are only against Nickelodeon because we miss our childhood! Come on Joe! I remeber when I used to watch Salute Your Shorts, probably my all time favorite show, it was so awesome, and to be able to recreate what it was like is great. This site takes me back to the days when life was simple, fun, and pretty much a carefree time. Now Im just about to turn 19 and how I wish I could relive those days all over again. Theres so many stressful things in life now, college, trying to get women, and knowing that ill probably wind up like most other people working the rest of my life, but I think that things such as this website do help me and many others to be able to help us remember the good ol' days. And to you heartless souls out there who think im overdramatizing this, well, to you, i say, remembering this show does make me emotional and i realize that those days are something that will most likely be forever gone, unless of course i get that balls to not grow up and just be a kid all my life, maybe that will happen. --peace

omg!I love all these shows and this site kix a$$. Holy SH*T we need to do a petition or sumthin cuz i loved watching cartoons until they put this new sh*t on nick. i mean what the heck now i can't stand watching cartoons like sponge bob,bear in the big blue house,blues clues,and all those other sh*ty shows i want my original shows like clarrisa explains it all,salute your shorts,spill your guts,what would you do,wild and crazy kids hey but guess wat i have a channel on my sattelite dish called noggin and they show most of our kick ass shows,so ,hell yeah im watchin the adventures of pete and pete right now so maybe we can get nick to show our shows.

Having worked at a summer camp for the past three summers now, it makes memories of watching this show even more pertinent and appropriate. Between "Salute Your Shorts" and "Ren and Stimpy" Nickalodeon had considerable influence over my formative years. It's good to see someone keeping the memory of these great shows alive. Keep it up.

OMG I LOVED "Salute Your Shorts" it was me and my friend's favorite show when we were younger, even though it was already being re-runned then, and all those old Nickeoldeon shows, like "My Brother and Me". I never watch Nickeloeon anymore except when there's nothing else on, and all they have our Sponge Bob Square Pants and other weird cartoons. (They don't even have good caroons have Angry Beavers.)

I will hate Nickeloedeon forever because they won't show any cool reruns! Not even one stupid Hey Dude episode...thats all I ask! Do we have to wait until our mid-forties to get these shows on Nick@Nite??? Come on people!!!!

it sucks nads that nickelodeon cant make non cartoons that dont suck any more. like how about the new all that? wat the f is up with that show? theyve got these frickin jerk off kids on that show now. and wat is up with taking salute your shorts off the air. that show was awsome as balls. im just sayin that if nickelodeon doesnt get some new ideas quick, their station is going to make like poo and stank up tv. so thats just a little message to the affiliates at Nickelodeon, you guys need to shape your asses up.

I love and miss solute ur shorts so much. in my town the old nick shows have their own fan club. no matter how different two people can be they would still agree that pete and pete and solute your are the best shows ever created. Any t.v. station would be doing itself and everyone else a big favor by putting classic nick shows on the air.
