Salute Your Shorts was one of my favorite shows on nick along with HEY DUDE and ROUND HOUSE... Those shows were the best!I agree with Tom Osborn. Nickelodean should put them back on tv so I can get a chance to record all the episodes... I think these shows really defined my childhood, they were funny and entertaining. The kind of shows you wanted to watch right after you get home from school. Ahhh the good old days. I wish nick would show them again! They're classics!

I'm a big fan of Salute Your Shorts, all classic Nick shows and Invader ZIM. Back in 1991 I saw a commercial of this show that it was going to premiered in July. Just then I watch it and it was outragesly cool and funny when I saw that episode when Ug put Budnick's lotion, he later turned BLUE! TOLET BOWL BLUE! That was hillarious. Later in 1992 when I saw another commercial of Salute Your Shorts saying there going to be new episodes plus Pinsky join the camp replacing Michael. I laughed so hard on one of those episodes. Then when I heard that Salute Your Shorts was going to be canceled I was so upset cause I thought there was going to make a thired season in 1993 but at least they have been showing all reruns of it which it cool until they stopped showing it same thing happens to all of my favorite shows. Now the Old Nickelodeon turns into faked Nickelodeon, nothing but BAD Nicktoons on that channel but the one that I like is Invader ZIM and it was cool and funny show but what sucks is as of now is canceled after two seasons just like how Salute Your Shorts happened but at least I get to see the reruns but I hope they don't take it off just like my favorite shows. I'm glad they now air The Adventures of Pete & Pete and Clarissa Explains It All. i finally get to watch those two shows But I wish Salute Your Shorts was on. LONG LIVE OLD NICK!

I want to admit right now that I had the BIGGEST crush on Pinskey from that show. I would have done anything for him. I loved all the Nick old school (I'm 18 going on 19) and I remember it all. I wish they would bring back Slaute Your Shorts. They are evil not to. I want to watch that show again so badly! I miss it and evil Nick thinks were all brain dead enough to watch a show like The Amanda Show. No way! I want the old school back and I want it now! *Blows kisses to Pinskey* ;-)

i LOVE salute your shorts. i wish it, and all the other old nick shows, would come back on. or at least have an all day marathon of them :) i am in the process of downloading all the theme songs and then i will put them on a cd to take to college with me next year. these shows were a part of my childhood! I think donkey lips is hott, most of my friends would agree. He was great in Dude Where's my Car? It's illegal to trade for over-the-air dubbed tapes on Ebay and they have been cracking down on both sellers and buyers lately so be careful. I've seen full SYS sets go for from $65 to a little over $200. You could also just go to the Dock area here and trade 'tape for tape' for some episodes. Just a thought...

My favorite episode was when Sponge was trying to win the trivia contest from the radio station and he had to stay up with no sleep for days in order to catch the question. That was hillarious! Salute Your Shorts was one of the coolest Nick shows ever. FYI-Bobby Budnick played little Sam on Different Strokes....lmao. Some other cool Nick shows were WELCOME FRESHMAN, CLARISSA EXPLAINS IT ALL, YOU CAN'T DO THAT ON TELEVISION, DON'T JUST SIT THERE, OUT OF CONTROL, FIFTEEN, AND OF COURSE...THE INFAMOUS.... AHH! I can't believe I found a Salute Your Shorts website! Man, I remember that show like it was yesterday. Salute Your Shorts was the best on nickelodeon... I love this show. It was definitely a favorite of mine and pretty much all my friends. We talk about it sometimes and it's hilarious. Do you guys remember the episode where they have to make pies and get into a pie fight and have to clean it up with toothbrushes? I liked that one. Hey, I'm a big SYS fan. I'd have to say my favorite episodes were the one where they raised all the money for the new waterslide but planted a tree instead and the treasure hunt one w/the picture of the lady. I also thoroughly enjoyed the one where the girls wanted to win tickets to something so they spelled out words on the field w/clothes and flour (i think) and then the sprinklers went off at the end and they kinda got screwed over.. awww. man, that was a great show. later ~anne

I can't believe it! I don't believe all these people are like me! All these years I thought I was alone but I'm glad to see that all these people like the old nickelodeon shows and not the new crap just like me! I'm young, when SYS came out I was in di apers. But I watched re-runs when I got older and I loved it! I watched it everyday! Along with other shows like: Double Dare, What would you do?, Wild and Crazy Kids, Hey Dude, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Doug, Ren and Stimpy, and the list goes on and on! My fav episode was the Wrestling one, the one where Donkeylips has to lose weight to do wrestling and is devestated to find out he cant do it at the end. I took the time I had to watch these shows for granted. We should write letters to Nickelodeon re questing to have all these old, classic, awesome shows back on the air. I'm glad to see there are people like me! But I'm sad to see there are so few of us. SYS will always be a great show no matter what. If they play it or not. And all the other shows. I still wish they would play them though. They will always be better than the new stuff. I'll be back!

When they took off shows like salute your shorts, roundhouse, global guts, what would you do?, and wild and crazy kids, my respect for nickelodeon vanished. Some times they would play reruns here a few years ago but now they are to busy showing poorly animated loser cartoons. no offence if you like the new cartoons, but in no way do they compare to the good old days. its grteat to know that im not alone in the fight to get SYS back on. Everyone that i talk to say that the capture the flag episode was t he best, i wonder what it was that made it so likeable.

Ah, reading the notebook, I get the sense that everyone who has signed it is about my age and feels a similar sense of nostalgia about the classic Nickelodeon shows I grew up on. I love this site, I was 8 and 9 when Salute Your Shorts was around and I still quote it all the time whenever my sister (who is a year and a half younger) and I reminise. Nowadays, I work at a radio station playing a bevy of underground music, and a friend of mine who books local shows told me that he was going to be putting o n a show with a band, Rilo Kiley, in which the singer is the girl from The Wizard (the Fred Savage movie about his brother who is the Nintendo prodigy who wins the Nintendo tournament where they introduce Super Mario Bros. 3). Well, this was enough to gra b my interest and go see the band. Well, not only was shoe in the band, but Blake Soper (Ronnie Pinsky) was the guitarist... and not only that, but a very talented guitarist, I recommend everyone check them out. They're not only a good band, but nice peop le. I had the pleasure of exchanging a few words... All very friendly people. I originally came on to talk about my experiences with Salute Your Shorts and ended up pretty much plugging a band. I guess I've used more tha my alloted time. Sorry. I miss Sal ute Your Shorts.

I just wanted to clarify something about 2 VERY related episodes. First of all-- In the Micheal and Budnick fake sick episode, they really end up getting to know, like and trust each other...which leads to my point...In the description of the Pinsky arrives episode, it was stated that Budnick doesn't like Pinsky because he is competition. While this is partially true, I don't think it is the main reason. I think the real reason is that Micheal was the first person Budnick ever opened up to, and trusted, and when Pinsky showed up, everyone seemed toforget about Micheal, and that hurt Budnick and made him worry that Pinsky was replacing Micheal. The competition thing was a front. Other than that this site is rad and made me go on a huge nostalgia trip...I really do miss all those old shows.

I would really like to see SYS back on the air for a little. At least so that other old fans could tape it. I can remember sitting on the floor every weekday at five thirty and watching it. I agree with you Joe about that It's definely not Nickelodeon's Fault I mean those Idiotic Fools you mention are taking over Nick's Schedule as it is puting nothing but garbage on that network and about those wannabe singers (A*Teens,Aaron Carter,Dream among others)they are just singing "What??" I think there even worse than the others singers I hate. So its there fault for doing that. On SYS I saw an episode on tape about how Budnick fell in love with Dina Plus in that episode Telly and Pinsky had bro ken legs when they felt off same thing went with Donkeylips, ZZ, and of course Ug. I taped all 26 episodes on one tape to see all the best episodes ever I hope you will too!

Hi There! I just moved to Los Angeles now! Anyway, I went to Griffin Park and saw places in there. In this question "Did you know that Salute Your Shorts was film there???" Indeed yes they did film there with some of the scenes I saw. Okay I know its r eally tough to get this show back on the air cause these show were the best, and I know that Nickelodeon really messed up the scheldule cause there stupid Nicktoons (sorry I mention it) I mean they show stupid cartoons like CatDog and SpongeBob Squarepant s Also, they even show that dumb name TEENick when they show wannabe singers acting like "What??" while those good shows come on and of course some of the stupid new shows like Cailin's Way. I do like some of the Nicktoons like Doug, Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy , Rocko's Modern Life and the Angry Beavers and Like all the Nick's Classic shows like Hey Dude, Welcome Freshmen, Clarissa Expains it All, Roundhouse, Kenan & Kel, All That, Are You Afraid of The Dark, Double Dare, What Would You Do?, Wild & Crazy Kids a nd of course Salute Your Shorts. Its not Nickelodeon's Fault, its those "Idiotic Fools" who messed up there Line Up. Its a good thing they websites for those shows though. I'm sorry I Took long for this I still like to watch Nickelodeon But I just hate th e way its going. Anyway, I Remember that episode about "Capture The Flag" how Donkeylips saves the day by running over the tires. I remember that line in that show as Donkeylips say it "Stupid Tires" and "Man!
