Focus on numerical results, implications, extensions.  Emphasize the stochastic model rather than any optimization algorithms, etc.
Turn in a final exam problem (with solution) based on the article you reviewed, or the stochastic model it used/described.  This problem should be solvable within 30 minutes under exam conditions.

Describe the analysis and results (as time allows) of the stochastic model
Electronic presentations brought to class early on USB or Zip drive or downloaded from your site onto the networked PC in the conference room

This is the first of three presentations.  Each team member must have approximately equal time across all three presentations but the allocation is up to the team.

Introduce the application and the stochastic model
Electronic presentations either emailed ahead of time or brought to class early on USB drive
Distribute your paper to the class by Tuesday, 2/15

Malladi, Shantha, Anand:  Optimal Control of a Remanufacturing System
Emile, Yi-Chieh, Shuxing:  Location of Airline Hubs as M/D/c Queues

Articles to be reviewed in groups of 2-3 must satisfy the following:

Published in an archival refereed journal within the past 5 years
Describes an application of some topic from this course, e.g., Markov chain, Markov decision process, renewal process, queuing model, Brownian motion
Does not contain (too much) advanced material to be comprehensible to other students in this course

Selection of articles will be partly based on variety of topics covered.
