I'm a Communications Specialist by profession and a contract web developer by hobby. I currently hold a B.A. and an M.S. in Journalism and Mass Communication. My areas of interest are visual communication and virtual reality.

I got into web design and development by accident. I took a class as an undergraduate that, to this day, I insist was misnamed. I thought it was a writing course, but it turned out to be a class in basic HTML. My husband convinced me to stay with it and it was then that I found my niche.

That was 10 years ago. Since then, I have developed sites for general contractors, dog breeders, corporate consultants, and clothing designers, among others.

So far, my crowning achievement has been the development and pilot testing of a desktop-based virtual reality safety training for my master's project. I hope to be able to continue on with similar projects. Believe it or not, building it was a lot of fun! Very hard work, but a lot of fun.
