Indexes and abstracts

From the Library home page, click on "Indexes and abstracts."  Choose from either the option "By name" or "By subject."  Three of the most useful indexes for your assignment will be:

Expanded Academic Index

A general index to articles in periodicals from popular magazines to in-depth sources.   Searchable by subject or keyword. All entries include the bibliographic citation; some include the full text of the article. Accessible campus wide from the library web page.

National Newspaper Index

An index to articles in fives newspapers:  The New York Times, The Los Angeles Times, The Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal and The Christian Science Monitor.  The entries only include the bibliographic citations. Accessible only in the library.

 Des Moines Register Index
                           
An index to articles published in the Des Moines Register from 1992 to the present. All articles are full text. Accessible only at the library.
