Yearly Schedule and Position Responsibilities

My appointment at ISU is a 9-month B-base appointment. I do teaching and research for the Fall and Spring semesters of each academic year. During the summer months, I leave the ISU campus and Iowa to do field research on historic trails in the west such as the Lewis and Clark Trail and the Nez Perce Trail.

Position Responsibility Statement For School Year 2000-2001
Steve F. Russell, Associate Professor of Electrical and Computer Engineering
Russell is expected to do research and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in wireless systems and networking. He is a member of the Information Systems Security Laboratory and is expected to participate in the development of the laboratory as it seeks to gain a national reputation in Information Assurance. He will continue to develop and expand his research program in wireless network security and write grant proposals, publish journal papers, and guide graduate students. He will work to develop the credentials necessary for promotion to full professor. Expected institutional service will be to serve on such departmental, college, and university committees as deemed appropriate by the DEO. Russell's appointment is seen as 65% teaching; 25% research; and 10% institutional service.
