I am a graduate student in the department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Iowa State University, Ames, IA pursuing PhD in Electrical Engineering. I work under the supervision of Prof. Namrata Vaswani. Before joining ISU in fall 2006, I finished my undergraduate studies in Electronics and Communications Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, India.

My broad research areas are  :  Computer Vision and Image Processing, Statistical Signal Processing and Machine Learning. My doctoral research mainly focused on Particle Filter based visual tracking algorithms and stochastic 2D and 3D shape deformation models. Applications include - automated landmark extraction from moving objects, activity recognition and abnormal activity/change detection. I have also worked on large dimensional Particle Filter based positioning, navigation and tracking for UAV applications. Some other relevant projects include  -  object  localization using Active Shape /Active Appearance Models and efficient Particle Filtering (PF with Mode Tracker) for target tracking under variable illumination conditions using a dynamical model of object appearance change. To know more details about my work, please visit my research page.

  Recent updates :

   - I am looking for a Fulltime position or a Postdoctoral fellowship in a research laboratory (November, 2009)

   - I have just finished my research internship at the Mitsubishi Electric Research Labs (MERL), Cambridge MA (Sept, 2009)
