SGT will be updating the senior bulletin board to represent the aerospace engineering graduating seniors of May 2005 and their parting mementos. It includes pictures and a brief bio of each of the graduating seniors. If we missed you, contact Rohit N. Ray.
The B-32 propeller is one of the forgotten relics of Aerospace past, and SGT wants to change that. SGT is looking for individuals who want to assist in properly displaying this piece of history. Look for the new display in Spring of 2006! If you'd like to help, please contact Brian Banker .
The Rite Kite is a joint project with Tau Beta Pi, AIAA, and the Flying Cyclones in which we are building a 1/2 scale model of the Wright brothers' airplane, just in time for the centennial celebration (the original took off at Kitty Hawk for the first time in 1903). This model has been constructed out of wood and cloth, just like a full-scale airplane, and it will be completely flight-worthy upon completion. Piloted via a tether in a manner similar to a kite, it is now displayed in the Howe Hall atrium. More information regarding the kit can be located at www.ritekite.com.
SGT is in the process of compiling data on who has worked where so you can get the inside scoop on what's hot and what's not!
SGT would like to help you find out more. So as part of our proposed ideas for this year, we would like to set the foundation for a repository of graduate school information. Our first step is to build a database on graduate schools and and their respective contacts who are alumni of ISU. Stay tuned.
If you have gone on internship or are an ISU alumnus currently attending graduate school, please contact us regarding your experiences.
Well, SGT has considered the need for Aerospace Engineering related artwork in Howe Hall. So in the spirit of pride in Aviation Engineering, and our knew home,
SGT wishes to begin work on decorating the walls. Perhaps a space shuttle launch, a 747 on takeoff into the sunset,
a colorful pressure analysis over an airfoil, whatever we can find that looks neat! We are attempting to obtain a few pictures and have them framed nicely and displayed in Howe Hall. If you have ideas or would like to help, contact one of our cabinet members.
