WELL, I SEE THAT YOU MADE THE TRIP

BOONE, IOWA is a town of about 12,700 people. The High Schools in Iowa are rated by the number of students enrolled in the school from grades (9 through 12). The rating system goes from class 4 A to Class A, with 4A being the largest and A being the smallest. Boone is a class 3 A school. The class system is used to ensure that competition between schools is equal for the size of the school districts.

Boone High School has in my opinion one of the best booster clubs in the state of Iowa. The Boone Hi Booster Club is an organization that raises money to be put toward the Boone School sports,extra-curricular activities, youth programs, band, orchestra, yearbook, foreign language clubs, or any student organization that may need money to be successful. Money is raised through the sales of business ads, personal memberships, clothing sales, youth tournaments(basketball and wrestling), concession sales at sporting events, and fundraisers that are held throughout the school year.

The memberships that are bought by the Boone Businesses cost $100.00 per year and the personal memberships cost $10.00 per family per year. The Booster Club putsapproximatly $35,000 per year into the Boone High School.

The Booster Club is run by a Board of Directors which consist of 21 members with the terms of three years. A board member may serve as long as He or She would like. All of the money that is put into the school system is discussed and voted upon for the amount of money or the need for the request. Requests are made at each meeting by the Athletic Director or whatever group is in need of something. The meeting are held monthly during the school year. Each Board Member has a commitee to serve on. This could be from concession stand to specialevents with too many to mention.

The Booster Club is set up with a President, Vice-president, Secretary and Treasurer. These positions are elected every year thus giving someone else a chance to do these duties each year.
