Scores, predicted scores - the serious stuff

How much does this exam really count? What does 'grading the exam out of 75 points' mean? Will the final grade be curved? Information on predicted final scores and more. Please read on before you email me.

Too ill to move?

If you cannot be there for a valid reason, email me asap and suggest alternatives, list your schedule. In case you are too ill, bring a note from the health center or your doctor to document that fact when you are asking to take a makeup exam.

Time, Place

The exam will be during class time in the usual classroom.

Material covered

Sections 2.4, 2.6-2.9, 3.1-3.5 of the textbook (ie from day One through Wednesday 2/2). The focus will be on finding limits and derivatives. There will be no epsilon-delta-ology, so finding limits will done only by using the theorems covered in class. Finding derivatives will be done by Questions will be part multiple-choice and part essay questions where you have to show all the steps. Only theorems covered in class should be used.

Calculators etc

Textbooks, notes, computers or calculators are not allowed. See the information in the list of objectives for this course - you should learn to find derivatives using pencil and paper only (we will allow calculators for later exams). All required calculations will be easily done without a calculator.
