RESEARCH EXPERIENCE

The Effect of High Traffic on the Air Quality

• Calculated the amount of Carbon Monoxide produced using the program Caline 4 in a tertiary street.
• Measured the amount of Sulfur and Lead in the air in the same street using an air analyzing kit.
• Concluded that the amount of automobiles that pass through that tertiary street and the amount of Carbon Monoxide produced is that of a primary street according to the Environmental Protection Agency.
• Published abstract of findings on local Newspapers, “El Nuevo Día” and “El Vocero.”
• Presented the results of the investigation and advised on how to alleviate the problem to the Traffic Committee of nearby schools “Colegio Marista,” “Baldwin” and “American Military Academy”

Calcium Phosphate vs. Fluoride                                                   

• Designed an in-vivo experimentation using an in vitro decalcifying model to compare the effectiveness of fluoride and calcium phosphate in molar remineralization.
• Concluded that calcium phosphate alone is a good remineralization agent, without the risk of fluorosis.
