John Schuh Purpose: Assessment, Employment, Learning, and Showcase The Educational Leadership & Policy Studies Ph.D. program has successfully designed and developed an electronic portfolio system that helps doctoral students monitor and reflect on their progress in each aspect of the ELPS program, set goals for improvement, and receive feedback from the faculty. The ELPS Ph.D portfolio assessment process is designed to support learning and development in the six major program domains three times during the doctoral program. After the third self-assessment, the materials from all the reviews are compiled in a presentation portfolio now to be available in electronic form. The electronic form of the presentation portfolio provides doctoral students with easier artifacts management options and contains built-in functions for reflection and efficent feedabck on artifacts. The new electronic portfolio also provides students with more choices for information release and sharing during portfolio development and assessment stages. |
