Common Questions About DARS

What is DARS?

DARS (Degree Audit Reporting System) is a new degree audit system that produces individualized reports that reflect a student's academic progress toward a specified degree. It will compare the student's course work, both here and transfer work, with the requirements of an academic degree program and prepares a report, or audit, which details the student's progress toward meeting those requirements.

DARS advantages:

  • Provides an ability to generate data for reports that students and administrators may use for course planning.
  • Allows authorized personnel to enter exceptions for students.
  • Provides timely production and distribution of audits.
  • Allows advisers to spend less time reviewing past course work.
  • Incorporates transfer work into the audit.
  • Improves consistency in checklists in advising appointments and graduation clearance.

How do students get a copy of their audits?

Your college or department will distribute these prior to scheduling courses for the following term according to your college preference. See your adviser if you have questions regarding the availability of a DARS audit for your major.

How will DARS list multiple majors/minors?

Currently, multiple majors or minors within the College of Business, College of LAS, and secondary majors in the college of Agriculture are listed on one audit. Two audits will be required for multiple degrees or multiple majors in the other colleges to ensure all needed requirements are met.

How often can students get an audit?

Additional DARS audtis may be ordered from your classification office. Future plans include audits available through AccessPlus.
