Dear
Colleague:
Welcome to the Iowa Academic Advising Network!
IowAAN is an up and coming professional organization for academic advisors, graduate students, and other higher education professionals in the field of advising. IowAAN stems from the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), and our mission is to serve professionals and students who are concerned with the intellectual, personal, and career/vocational advising needs of students in the State of Iowa.
Our goal is to provide professional support and involvement through the sharing of ideas, networking, learning opportunities, and professional recognition. By establishing a communication network, we hope to promote the profession of academic advising and enhance recognition throughout the state. Additionally, in light of current economic conditions, IowAAN will strive to provide professional development opportunities that are affordable, accessible, and relevant to advising professionals in Iowa.
Membership to IowAAN is open to any and all professionals and graduate students who work, or plan to work, with academic advising in some capacity. Currently, IowAAN is in the development phase, but will eventually be a formal membership organization with a minimal annual dues fee ($15 for professionals/$10 for graduate students). If you are interested in becoming involved as a member or leader of IowAAN please see the “Membership/Involvment” portion of this website. We look forward to working with you!
Sincerely,
Dave Marchesani
President, Iowa Academic Advising Network
