Back when it was still a game... Almost Real '60s Re-Plays
This page contains the results of some solo re-plays of 1960's seasons.
Because of the difficulties with injuries encountered
when using the 1962 data disk with 20 teams, these Re-Plays use just 18
teams, divided into 3 divisions. A draft was held for the players of
the two worst teams of the 60's, the New York Mets and the Washington
Senators and their players were distributed among the remaining 18
teams. The Eastern Division has the Yankees, Orioles, Indians, Red Sox,
Pirates and the Philles. The Central Division has both the Chicago
teams, the Cubs and the White Sox, as well as the Twins, Braves, Tigers
and Reds. The Western Division has the Giants, Dodgers, Cardinals,
Angles, Astros and A's. This scheme worked out so well it was not only
used for the 1962 season, but for several seasons after that. Have
developed a pretty good 156 game schedule, which can be found below, and
which you are welcome to copy. After each Re-Play the 3 Division winners
and the wild card team with the best record play in a best of seven
series to determine who would play in the Re-Play World Series. The
results have been pretty interesting, and easily reflect the 'Real' 60's
Seasons.
3 Division Schedule 18 teams, playing
each team in their own division 12 times and all other teams 8 times, for
a 156 game season. Zipped version
