- Spectral theory of differential and integral

- Green's functions and boundary value problems
- Weak solutions of partial differential equations
and variational methods
- Calculus in Banach spaces and applications

COURSE GRADING POLICIES:
Homework assignments.........................50% of grade

Midterm exam...................................... 20% of grade

Final examination...................................30% of grade

Homework assignments will be given about
once a week and due about a week later.
Discussion of homework problems with other students is encouraged, but what
is handed in should
be your own work. I am often willing to talk with you and give hints about
the assignments before
they are due.
