Graduate Research Associate in MeNaScale (Meso- and Nano- Scale) Magnetism

January 2014

Graduate research associate position is available starting immediately in the field of experimental meso- and nano- scale (mena-scale) magnetism. A full PhD project in Physics, Chemistry, Engineering or related fields, depending on the home Department, with the thesis is expected. The project involves advanced characterization and modeling of various types of magnetic menascale systems, such as nanoparticles, menascale metallic magnetic and superconducting islands on various substrates, ferrofluids, biological (magneto – tactic bacteria) and bio-inspired menascale materials. The focus of the project will be on the relation between the structural formation and appearance of the magnetic structure. Both static and dynamic aspects of magnetic behavior of the menasystems will be studied using a variety of macroscopic and menascopic techniques.
