The feed industry is undergoing considerable change driven by the global diversification in uses of crops for biofuels and by the luring potential of advancing technologies. Certain high yielding biomass and grain crops are grown specifically for feed production. These crops include particularly the cereal crops such as maize where approximately 60% of the crop is used for feed (note that export is also mostly a feed use).
