KamLAND is a 1000-ton liquid scintillator detector designed for sudying the solar neutrino puzzle using anti-neutrinos from nuclear reactors. Based on 162 ton-yr of data, a deficit in the anti-neutrino flux is observed. Assuming CPT invariance, the first results from KamLAND have ruled out all solutions to the solar neutrino problem except for the 'large mixing angle' region.
