The rate of K -> pi,nu,nubar decays can provide precise information on 
the CKM matrix of the Standard Model. The observation of two candidates 
for the decay  K+ -> pi+,nu,nubar upon an estimated background of 
0.15+-0.05 by Brookhaven experiment E787 will be presented. Future 
prospects for measurements of K -> pi,nu,nubar decays will be discussed.
