This talk will briefly describe the status of neutrino oscillations to
lay the ground for talking about the impact MINOS will have on the
field.  It will also discuss the construction, status, and physics
potential of the MINOS detector and the NuMI beamline.  The talk will
conclude with a discussion of future experiments using the NuMI beamline
to explore neutrino oscillations at an even deeper level.
